Week 12
After we done all the things, the rest of time before exhibitionis keep testing. Our animations automatically change is because the webcam sensoring the black square and effect it change, so the light issues is really important.Moreover, we need to setup the webcam position when every time we move the table and it tooks lots of time too.
In exhibition, I think our group did a very excellent work, all the functions were worked really well. For example, when we turn the page the animations changed and also the "pop-op" device. Also, the most exciting things is we really finised the motion sensor quiz, it working really well too.. hope everyone enjoy the "interactive storybook".
Week 11
This week we also finished the animations that showing in the storybook. In different flashes, we design diferent cartoon characters and use the characters teach childrenbasic knowledges of sustanability. Moreover, atfer the flash finised we can keep working on code part and testing. However, we still have many problems about actionscript, and still need more time to solve these problems. Especially the motion sensor quiz, still need work on reseraching and find knowledge on it.
Week 10
Another part would be the game quiz, our idea is design two bin in flash and let children know howto do recycle. We decided to do the motion sensor to make it more interestingand interactive. Therefore,the idea is when children move their hands to the right or left the webcam would sensor the motion then let the rubbish in flash move to same direction. This couldbe very hard to finish, so we put this step in last. In addtion, tutors helped us a lot in this part. They gave us lots of useful websites and also suggestions.
In another part, we finished the storybook and starting to work on the graphic and flash design. We also got some feedbacks from lectures to make tje context as simple as possible.This week we separate two group, one group keep working on design storybook, another grouptrying to solve coding things...
Week 9


When we build the storybook, we designed the interface and size in photoshop softwareat first. We printed out the paper from printing shop then cut and glued on the cardboard.Its really took our time on build the "pop-up" device, because we try to make professionaland easy to use. Therefore, we spent a great amount of time to finish storybook and also get some suggestions from tutors and improve next week.

Week 8


Technology
We had just been through lots of idea on technology part. We were thinking use RFIDand barcode technology before, because we try to design a storybook that could change the animations in the context when children turn over the page. However, we asked tutorsabout these technology and he suggested that it would has lots of technology issues and problems and maybe not suit in this design.
After serevl discussions, we finally decided to use projecter and webcam to present ourproject idea. The basic idea is when webcam sensor the different tags in the storybook, it would change the animations automaticly and present on the book through projecter. Howeber, we need to spent a lots of time to learn and analyse on action script part.
Physical book
The main purpose for this project is about interactive, so change animations is not enough. Therefore, we are going to design the interactive functions in the storybook.For example, when children rotate the side in the storybook the animation could change.
Week 7
We also finished the interview part, we combining parents suggestions and feedbacks then think about the context in storybook. Because of the target users, we need to makes the book as simple and easy for children read and enjoy.
Week 6
After last week's presentation, we combining tutors' suggestions and decided to choose"interactive storybook" for our project. The aim of this project is to improve originalstudy situation and letting children to use an interesting way to gain knowledge from books. We decided to have our target users' age between 4-6, and then researched on the internet about the relevant theory and skills which are required for storybook. Moreover,we are going to do an interview and questionnaire to have ideas about what would parents think about "interactive storybook", and also get feedbacks and suggestions from them.
We separate into two gropus, one group is going to do the interview part, and another group were spent this week to analyse these theory and skills. For example, what technology we will use,how to interactive with children, and also materials.

Week 5 - Presentation
e-business card
The aim of this idea is we try to make people to exchange thier personal information more convenient. The design concept is to save personal information in the card and combine with mobile phone, so how to achive the process is simplytouch the mobile phone to another and it transfer the information immediately. For example, using in business situation or sometimes when you need to fill the form about your personal information.
Feedback - many similar products have been used, and need to consider about interactive part and some security issues.
Interactive story book
The purpose for this idea is makes children feel more interesting when readingthe book. We design different kind of flash animations and combine with other technology into the story book. The animations would replace the original contexts and aslo design some buttons to get interactive with children.
Feedback - its good idea for the project, but still need to think about how to interactive with children and some technology issues. Moreover, focus on thedesign points anout sustanability.
Week 4 - Design project ideas
1. E-business Card
The idea is from when people try to get the personal information form eachother in business situation, most people will give a bussiness card or write the information on the paper. However, its easy to lost the cards and papers and also consider about waste papers for the enviroment issues. Therefore, we try to design an e-business card that can save information and then combine with the mobile phone technology. When using the e-business card, people just need to toch the mobilephone from eachother, and their information can be transform autmatically.
2. Bus reminder mechine
At first,the target user for this device is for blind people that cant see the bus timetable on notice board. Therefore, our design idea is build a voice device that install in bus stops. The device will annouce the number of the bus when bus arriving, so blind people can hear the sound and catch the correct bus. Moreover, we also consider about the technology that might be use in this design idea and how to achieve the device.
Technology - RFID technologyInstall the different RFID tags into different buses and each tags have different codes. The RFIDreader will sensor the code then send annouce information. In addition, consider about the sustanability,we are going to use solar energy in this device.
3.Holographic story book
The design idea is really like an "electron book". As we know when we read the book, we read throughpage by page and sometimes it feels really boring for childrens. Therefore, we are going to design different kind of holographic pictures, and use projector display on blank pages. This design can makes children feel more interesting when reading, and also save papers in order to consider about sustanability.

Week 3 - Presentations
For this design idea allows the user to experience an augmented reality in which the flow of ribbons and particles can be controlled. It works by capturing a colour from an object and then using this object to drag the ribbons around the screen.
Technology
To create this project, I have found the source of the three key elements used in this design. These are the colour detection, the 2D Ribbons and ping range sensor setup. The discussion are list below
Colour detection
This sketch allows the user to select colours from webcam input. The input is then an analysed and a rectangle is drawn around all pixels close to the chosen colour. Up to two colours could be used for this sketch. This is similar to the method in the Bitmapdata class in Flash.
2D Ribbons
For the original design, they chose one of the desinger's Ribbon code and have managed to post it over to processing in 2D form. Although the result and code are both very different to that of original design, it retains the original technque for building the ribbons. Also, more ribbons could be added by changing the ribbon amount variable.

Project Dissemination and How is it useful
Through the virtual ribbons design idea, this project can be using in different functions. For example when designing games this technology can be designed for the interactive games and its could create for not just only use the controller, using any materials with this technology would be more attractive. If we take one step back, the colour detection technology would be more useful automatic colour detection for car repainting is an example and also skin colour dection is an often used cue in human motion tracking, especially in face tracking.

Reflection
The interactive design are become more ordinary. For example, the technology "colour detection" is using in many design idea. However, if we just make some changes or add another technology into the original design it could make different effect in different situation. Therefore, in the future people could easily realized that successful design product makes life more convenient, interesting and attractive.

Week 1 Sustainability

Sustainability is the ability to maintain a certain process or state. It is now most frequently used in connection with biological and human systems. In an ecological context, sustainability can be defined as the ability of an ecosystem to maintain ecological processes, functions, biodiversity and productivity into the future.
Sustainability has become a complex term that can be applied to almost every facet of life on Earth, particularly the many different levels of biological organization, such as; wetlands, prairies and forests and is expressed in human organization concepts, such as; eco-municipalities, sustainable cities, and human activities and disciplines, such as; sustainable agriculture, sustainable architecture and renewable energy.

Sustainability would be the topice we have to discuss and apply in IENV3000. In my opinion, the basic idea of sustainability is that can be use in environment content. I have noticed that saving energy is the most important point in sustainability. From class example, the purpose of energy tree and LED rope are all designing for saving energy like how much you have used and is that overdo or not. Therefore, in the course we have to really understand what is sustainability mean and could be apply in our design porject through semester.
